MyPhotos
I am totally a photo junkie. It’s mainly just a hobby, but I do pick up the occasional freelance gig. I have everything from “artsy-fartsy” to just snapshots of friends and family and everything in between. SO have fun looking around. If you see something you like, please leave me a comment. I live for those things.

I got nothin'! I can't figure out what I want to go shoot. I go some place and take some pictures, but I get back and look at them and they're all crap. I have no inspiration these days when it comes to photography. Maybe it's the weather. Anyway, because I haven't shot anything good lately and my site was getting a bit stale, I went back and found some old stuff. Some of these you've seen, but I re-processed them. Some of them were rejected from other galleries for various reasons, but I decided to give them a second chance here. Enjoy.

Splash Test

Date Taken: 2/16/2008
I built this cool little device that connects to my camera. A laser is fired at it and when the beam is broken, the camera fires. It works pretty well. Greg, Shane and I got together to set it up and took some cool stop-motion shots. The wine glasses in the from of the gallery are from the attempts to get a "perfect" splash. As it turns out, the rig I built to hold the laser and the sensor is too tall and too flimsy to pull it of. We did get some cool shots of the glass though! Pretty much all the rest of them were shot looking into the side of an aquarium. They came out ok. This was really more of a proof-of-concept, so the shots are not as well set up as I would have liked. Oh yeah, don't even ask about the Cheeto.

This is another set of photos that I took a while back and never published. This was a work event so most of the people you see are my co-workers.

Denny Hamlin, NASCAR #11 Driver

I actually took these pictures about a year ago, and just never published them. They just got lost in the mix I guess. This was a media event that I was asked to shoot by my company. Denny Hamlin, the driver for the #11 FedEx car was in town for a race at Texas Motor Speedway. While he was in Dallas he participated in a charity event for Cook Children's Hospital. I took over 1000 photos that day. I ended up with quite a few media-ready shots as well as several of the car that I'm pretty proud of.

For those of you who don't know, my dad raises Foundation Quarter Horses. These are the highlights of photo shoot I did for him a couple of weekends ago. I think we got some good ones here in spite of the fact that I ended up shooting at high noon.

Clint and Nicki's Wedding

Here are some shots from Clint and Nicki's big day. I was not the wedding photographer, but I brought my camera along to shoot the rehearsal dinner and some of the reception. I was going to put these photos up on Picasa so that everyone could order prints, but it was not working correctly. I will try again and update this post with an address once they are up. In the mean time, feel free to download the pictures and if you need a print quality version of one, just email me.

Dallas Arboretum 2

So it was back out to the Dallas Arboretum this weekend for another shoot. They were having their annual fall festival and there must have been ten thousand pumpkins there. As always, the place was packed with photographers. Greg went with me to break in his new Canon 40D. This is my second time to shoot here and looking back on my photos from before, I can tell the quality of my photos has improved.

O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals

I went to the Texas Moterplex this weekend for the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals Drag Races. T-Bone got some tickets and pit-passes from an old friend of his that works on an alcohol-fueled dragster. I had never been to a drag race before, but this was pretty cool. The sound was unbelievable and I was able to walk around the pit area and see them rebuilding the engines between races.
I also took some video

45th Annual National Pow-Wow
Photos: 27 |
Location: Grand Prairie, TX |
Date Taken: 9/7/2007
Traders Village, located in Grand Prairie hosted the 45th Annual National All-Tribes Indian Pow-Wow. This was pretty cool event and I had a great vantage point for. I had to shoot with my flash because the arena lights just weren't bright enough and I am not as happy with the results as I could be. I was going to go back on Saturday morning to get some day-time shots, but it didn't happen.

Creative Color

Oaky, so this gallery is a little different. I haven’t been able to go out and shoot much these days, so I thought I would go through some old photos and find a new way to process them. I wanted to get a little more creative with the post-production. In this case, I focused on the color. That included things like: over saturation, de-saturation, grayscale, ultra-contrasty, sepia, split-toning and anything else I could think of to create some unexpected colors. Some of them are subtle; some are not. Some you may have seen before in other galleries and some are brand new to this site. Anyway, I hope you like ‘em.
