And here is the video page. I recently bought this mini digital camcorder. It's small enough to mount it to my mountain bike, or carry around in my pocket to catch the action wherever I'm at. If you like what you see here, how about leaving some comments.

Oak Cliff Nature Preserve MTB Trail
Length: 7:09 | Location: Dallas, TX | Date Shot: 12/22/2007
Click to ViewSo here is the next installment of the mountain bike video series. This is the trail at Oak Cliff Nature Preserve or ONCP for short. This is one of my favorite trails in the Metroplex. It's a young trail and it keep expanding. Every time I go out there, there is something new. If you get a chance, head down there and ride a few laps.

Seems like you could see the elevation changes better on this one for the dips and climbs and things, but might just be me. Thanks again for another sweet video that I can send my fam/friends to explain the bruises and stuff.

Click to ViewThis past Friday was the big Festivus party with all my work buddies. If you are saying to yourself, "Self, what he heck is a Festivus?", click here and/or here to learn about it. We had a blast, even though we never wrestled Craig to the ground. For those of you who don't know these folks, you may be wondering what the deal is with the air guitar. We are still wondering that too.

Erwin Park MTB – The Highlights
Length: 7:01 | Location: McKinney, TX | Date Shot: 10/12/2007
Click to ViewI had hoped to get a lot of footage last time I was at Erwin, but the conditions were tacky and it was threatening rain so I didn’t venture far from the parking lot. So when I got off from work early on Friday I headed back out there get in a full lap.

I am still trying to get the cameras position dialed in. I got some of the steering tube in the frame this time. I think it’s a little distracting. Hopefully I figure it out by the next video.

Oh, and just so it’s clear. I post these videos to show off the course, and maybe to show off my video editing skills a little. But it is not to showcase my riding style or ability. I am still a newbie so if you want to “critique”, please keep it constructive.

Erwin Park MTB Trail (Dips and Stuff)
Length: 3:26 | Location: McKinney, TX | Date Shot: 10/6/2007
Click to ViewI attended a DORBA skills clinic this weekend out at Erwin Park. It covered roots and logs and was pretty good. I brought my camera along to document the carnage, but ultimately decided that posting video of people I don’t know very well falling off their bikes for the whole world to see is no way to make friends. So I ended up just using some footage from the after-class ride. If you were at the clinic and want any of the video I shot of you, just shoot me an email and I can get it to you.

I didn't get a lot of usable footage. You will see that the lens got some condensation on it and so there is a blurry spot in the bottom right. I wanted to get a lot of different shots of “No Brakes”, but it started misting rain and the trail was getting a little slick. I rode it once, and made it, but it was kind of ugly. Maybe I’ll get some better shots of it next time.

Arbor Hills MTB
Length: 6:18 | Location: Plano, TX | Date Shot: 9/29/2007
Click to ViewI finally found a way to mount my Flip video camera to my bike. It's a high-tech rig that consists of a big wad of electrical tape. It is actually really stable. I tried a couple of different angles and found that having the front tire in the frame helps to give it a little perspective.

Unfortunately, I forgot to clear the memory before I started so I ran out of space before I got to the end of the trail. I plan to go back and do it again this week. I'll probably post a full version of the video once I get it. It will be about 15 minutes long and will probably not be very interesting unless you are an MTBer. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals
Length: 1:21 | Location: Ennis, TX | Date Shot: 9/22/2007
Click to ViewI went to the Texas Moterplex this weekend for the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals Drag Races. T-Bone got some tickets and pit-passes from an old friend of his that works on an alcohol-fueled dragster. I had never been to a drag race before, but this was pretty cool. The sound was unbelievable and I was able to walk around the pit area and see them rebuilding the engines between races.

I also took quite a few photos

MTB Ramp Jumping
Length: 3:41 | Location: Bryan, TX | Date Shot: 7/19/2007
Click to ViewFinally, we are seeing some blue skies in Dallas. The rain has left the forecast for a few days and the MTB trails are drying up. I went down to ride Lake Bryan this weekend. Alex and Rob built a ramp and we spent a good part of the weekend jumping it.

We took some video and I cut it together with some music.

Pull up on the handle bars when you jump. This will help you land on the back rim instead of the front.

 Anonymous Said:
too much stutter stop effect throughout. might be nice to break it up with some simple video and no sounds, so as to give the viewer a audio/visual break of sorts.

from an art direction sense

 Anonymous Said:
ah mr.meddy
and mr.urbanek
yall would
hehe
amazing jumps
really awesome

hehe

ps.tighten up!

 Anonymous Said:
Medlock is amazing.

 Anonymous Said:
mr. medlock?
get it:)

 Anonymous Said:
I'll give you guys an "E" for effort. You should really spread the ramps out a bit, instead of landing on the flat. Atleast it will save you some bent rims. Keep at it though!

 napoleon dynamite Said:
wow is that a sledghammer?

 Amber Said:
You've been after me to watch this, and I finally did. That is a fairly innocuous-looking ramp, though.

 Anonymous Said:
these guys are hardcore haha. try riding slightly bigger and gap it out more.

 Anonymous Said:
You guys do kinda suck, but your fun to watch hahah. nice editing

 Chipper Said:
wow those were some awesome crashes

 Anonymous Said:
Scale that ramp up by 3x find a nice little hill to roll down to it and run tires bigger than 2.1s. And dont forget to drop your seatpost some.

 Chas Martel Said:
Let me guess: you need to wear helmets even when not on a bike right?

 YetiFreak Said:
Nice dog.

 Cope Said:
That was so radical I couldn't watch it! People that see this will really say "wow"

 Liz Said:
That's awesome!

 Anonymous Said:
Sweet ramp

 Aunt Joy Said:
By the way, I have some ramp shots of you when you were about ten, but it was a skateboard then. Still the same wrecks, just different toys

 Aunt Joy Said:
WoW! loved the video. Great production. Some kids NEVER grow up. Keep this up and I will never have any little nieces and nephews to play with.

 Anonymous Said:
Nice video but aren't you a little old for that :~D

 Faith Said:
Oh my gosh! you are going to kill yoursepf. Nice job on the editing.
